Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines. Forms, supplements, transcripts, recommendations, essays. The essays are either going to kill me or drive me insane. If all this college application stuff would go away, life would be sweet. Or at least a lot less strange and busy and hectic. Maybe I'm blowing this all out of proportion, but the stupid essays continue to loom above me like Doom. Which they are. So, Doom looms over me like an ugly hairy creature with long teeth and claws made of poor diction and breath that reeks of passive voice. Also, a tail of run-on sentences.

Oh, and I definitely did not get any of the answers to the calculation problems on my first chemistry test today. It's good that I can go back and check the answers NOW, after finding out that - on an OPEN-BOOK TEST - the problems were the odd-numbered ones from the book AKA the ones whose answers are in the back. AGH!

did I mention stressssssssssssssssssssssssss?

Eh, we'll see about the U of I thing soon enough . . . Supposedly there was a mass mailing of transcripts today (I got an image of letters flying out of the school doors like in Harry Potter when I found that out, except it was a fireplace in HP and not a bunch of transcripts).

Oh well. I've revised my Common App essay like 10 billion times now, so maybe it'll be good enough. ;)

Ahhhh I understand completely. This is getting so ridiculous. My Santa Clara University app is due the first, I'm turning it in tomorrow. Auugghh. Where are you applying?

Eeek, uber-stress. Where else are you applying?

I've already applied to the U of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and I'll be applying to Kenyon, Grinnell, Lawrence, the College of Wooster, Macalester, maybe Knox . . . and I may end up applying to another larger school, but we'll see.

Kenyon is a nice school! Ugh, larger schools. Academically, I'd love to attend UCLA, but that school is so large I'd get lost.

I'm pretty much staying within the state. I'm applying to SCU, University of San Diego, University of Southern California, UC Santa Cruz, and probably UC Santa Barbara. I'm not sure if I'm applying anywhere out of state, though.

Yeah, I really like Kenyon. It's so expensive, though, that my going there depends entirely on scholarship money.

Those are all good schools; I considered USC for a while . . . but money kinda got in the way of that.

Ditto, Santa Clara is ludicrously expensive. Their financial aid packages are either ridiculously stingy or very generous, so I just have to cross my fingers and see what happens.

Yeah, the waiting for notification on scholarships (once I get my apps in, that is) just might kill me. We can do this, Diana! *pumps fist*
