prom update!
May. 3rd, 2006 08:58 pmSo, prom was last Friday. I haven't really had a spare moment since then to do anything other than play Chicago music and sleep (and take AP tests), so here I am now. Wooo getting out of rehearsal "early" - 7:45 pm.
Anyway. Here are some
( prom pictures for your viewing pleasure. )
Oh, yeah - a meme I got from
forkthief but haven't had time to do yet.
Comment on this entry and get a letter. Write ten words beginning with that letter, including an explanation of what the word means to you and why. I got "G"!
( What G means to me )

new year, new post
Jan. 1st, 2006 08:16 pmSo, it's officially 2006.
( Pictures from New Year's Eve )
( Thoughts on the upcoming year, complete with resolutions. )
Also, I have joined
embodiment. I've kept a paper journal since the end of 6th grade, and I've been fairly faithful with them since then. But never before have I written in one every day. So we'll see if I can keep up with the community's idea.
ETA: Memoirs of a Geisha is excellent; I just finished it today. The writing style is transfixing, and the book addictive. Lots of metaphors = very vivid imagery. It's interesting that it was written so well from a woman's perspective by a man. I highly recommend.

I finished my recordings for colleges!!!

Hurrah!!
And, because I found these recently and thought they were funny, here are a couple of Sara's and my doodles from Pre-Calc last year:

A whale! by Sara

A soup spoon! by me
Hurrah for doodling! So much better than calculus.
I decided on Memoirs of a Geisha for my next book. So far it's pretty good; it turns out we actually had an excerpt from it for a prompt in AP Language (the one about the "tipsy house").
Off to reading!

So, being as it's almost New Year's, I decided to follow the "Get your resolution here" link I saw on my flist. And here is my resolution:
Teehee. Good thing I got all those new, colorful, clicky-Sharpies for Christmas!
Maybe sometime soon I will come up with a real resolution. For now, I need to select which book I'm going to read next from the 16 I got this Christmas. Included in those 16 are the following:

BOOOKS!!
( And now, for more holiday pictures )

Today was awesome. I've said it before and I'll say it again . . . I have the most awesome friends in the universe.
Ultimate Frisbee in the snow was Good Times, even though Max got injured. :(
Volleyball, food, Scrabble, movie, Jimmy's present (the highlight of the night, for me!), and then the communal Brushing Off of Snow were also among the good times.
I knew this weekend would kick ass.

Oct. 15th, 2005 11:49 amAaah, the wonderfulness of Saturday. Free time! At least for a little while before I start revising essays again.
So, here are some
( pictures from homecoming. )
Ok, onto getting stuff done.

Yes, I know this is my third post today.
( But here are some pictures from last night, the last Thing of the summer. *tear* )
Sigh. What a summer.
Sigh. What a summer.
Random peeeeeectures (because I'm bored)
Jul. 19th, 2005 07:35 pmTaking a break from Pride and Prejudice to bring you all some fantastic pictures of me and my friends at various gatherings held this summer! You should feel blessed and honoured to be viewing them. Haha just kidding . . . I need some painkillers.
OOH YEAH. If anyone who's in any pictures that I post has any objections to having their pictures online/my livejournal, let me know and I'll take them down. I may have said this before . . . But I don't remember.
( Here they be. )
Aaah, that was fun. Now I should go gargle and stuff.
Oooh, that reminds me of an Arthur song!
"Floss, floss, floss your teeth,
Make your mouth feel clean!
Gargle and spit, gargle and spit
To prevent gingivitis and other forms of periodontal disease!"
Ok, I'm done now.

Jul. 6th, 2005 06:55 pmGood times with Sara today, although I ate a little too much for my own good. It was like Olde Times, way back in 7th grade. Running tonight should help with the icky feeling, though.
Last night I wrote a really nice cathartic journal entry in all capital letters. It felt good to get it out of my system. If only I were able to articulate myself half as well when speaking as I can when writing.
The Fourth of July was ok; I've had better times this summer on days of less hype, though.
( Here's a picture of some amigos at Independence Grove - before the storm, but after the water balloon fight. )

May. 30th, 2005 09:33 pmHere I am, on the eve of the start of my summer!employment, just wanting to spend the whole summer with friends and reading new books (even though I am currently reading FotR . . . whoops).
Working isn't so horrible, but watching In Good Company last night brought on this surge of resentment toward the corporate hordes and their unfeeling ways. Well, the unfeeling ways of a large portion of the corporate hordes.
Speaking of In Good Company, last night was a blast - I ♥ MOVIE NIGHTS! 74 pictures resulted from that awesome time! Thanks for hosting it, Becky.
( Here are some of the 74. )
Summer = amazing. And it's only just begun!

So, prom was last night. Good times were had, although I got a little tired toward the end of the night. But that's to be expected, I guess, since I didn't consume any caffeine.
Not many of the pictures my parents took turned out very well, and I took far fewer pictures at the dance than I would have liked, but
( here are a few of the better ones. )
The dinner was delicious (Megan and I were labeled "veg" by the wait staff); I only got one blister from my shoes (probably because I took them off 2 minutes into the dance); I saw Betsy, Jori, Hayley, and a lots of other people at their tables and on the dance floor; I danced poorly but without a care; and fell asleep on the bus ride home. And today, there's a trip to the Botanic Gardens and dinner planned. So that means I should go shower, probably.
Let me just finish with this: I can't imagine enjoying myself that much with anyone but John.
